A prime example of what Rosso di Montalcino can be when handled right. Bold and full-bodied with seductive aromas of marasca cherries, and followed by a spicy, pink pepper finish. This wine is dry on the palate and has a firm but nicely integrated finish, making it a great everyday wine.

Started off in the 1970s as a hobby, Domencio Berni purchased a small plot on “Contrada el Petroso”, a slope that was planted with vines from the 14th century, thus starting the story of Pietroso. Firstly making wine for friends and family, it was them who encouraged Berni to start making wine a full-time venture, professionally. Today, the winery has three separate vineyards near the town of Montalcino and is run by his grandnephew.
